13-1-09 Tuesday at Cresswell

I was heading up the coast and passing Cresswell only one car so I thought the hide would be empty, and it was there has been no recent reports of the Bitterns, 2 Scaup where new for the year and 6 Mergansers came in front of the hide, which has had the reeds cut back giving views along the edge, and should be good for Snipe,plenty waders dropped in but all went on the spit. I was going to head up to Druridge /Hauxley but on the way to the car the Barn Owl flew across the track so I spent the rest of the time trying to get some shots of it , Stonechats near the car and over a 1000 Pinkfeet in the fields behind the cafe, a good afternoon .
