4-1-09 Cresswell /Druridge
Sunday and it was late before I got out so I just went up to Cresswell ,but passing the carpark there was 6 or more cars , thinking the hide would be full, I pulled in just past and scanned to find the Barn Owl was out and hunting I stood behind the telegraph pole hoping it would fly past, waited ages as it had dropped in the grass, then it sat up on the wall , then the fence and finally went west out of sight. I moved further along past Bells farm the flock of Twite still around joined by Goldfinches , also in the same field several Mistle Thrush & a Fieldfare, with about 1000 Pinkfeet in the fields to the west, 6 Whoopers flew north , turned out to be two adults & four juveniles, a good size family party

Brian, are the twite on the dunes opposite Cresswell Pond or at Bell's Farm?
Twite are in the field on the right over the hill from Cresswell the open one with the cattle and sand dunes just past the stream, which you can view from the two gateways, they are always on the move so should be easy to pick up.
they should pull in something any day now.
