Holywell Pond 7-5-09

Another ride out on the bike called at Blyth harbour on the off chance one of the Icelands would be still around actually there was not a gull to be seen , I did have a couple of Wheatears along the wall be they would not let me anywhere near.
Holywell Common Sandpiper at the East end and another later, strong westerly again Gulls coming in near the shore to bathe , from the west end an Iceland Gull high west it must have just flown over the pond at the time there was no gulls on the water, 50-60 Swifts just seemed to come from nowhere and increased to easy 100 or so, later most had left replaced by mostly Sand Martins, 2 Common Terns arrived , about 6-7 Lapwing chicks at the small flash to the north. Another pleasant day spoiled by the strong wind !!!!
