Blyth River

Checking along the river Blyth a few days ago The Little Egret still present also a couple of Seals near the loading dock of the long gone Bait's Pit also 3 Mergansers with two Goosanders well up river , 60 Golden plover on the spit, earlier in the day a look at Seaton Sluice only produced a single Common Scoter usually there is a small flock here and there is always the hope of something in with them single RTD also

Cresswell pond in the afternoon was a rather short visit due to some people who where very loud and insisted in pointing out the windows at things so I headed to the outflow for a look on the sea numerous Red Throats dotted about and 4-5 Pied Wagtails working the tideline

Blyth Harbour 2-12-10

                 Just  a walk along to the harbour today with the small lens encountered the Snow Buntings along the road , a nice bright sunny day  fairly heavy sea, a single Common Scoter on the river as where some Eider  also a Golden Plover on the beach 3 Purple Sandpipers flew over and seemed to go under the fish quay  15 or so Redshank again very few Gulls can't see the numbers increasing till the boats get back out , on the way down I passed an apple tree  still laden with fruit with Starlings, Blackbirds and Bluetits   feeding it looked ideal for a few Waxwings should have checked it before they all moved on .

View along the pier still some hardy fisherman out even though there is a very strong Easterly wind.

I said it was a very strong wind this guy just took off, should'nt have worn a Poncho !!!

4 th April Up the coast just for a change !!!!

I had intended to go back to Harwood on the bike,not heard any more on the GGS, but the weather was not looking too good and as it happened it poured down. Stopped at Woodhorn area the 4 Whitfronts still around and a couple of Pinkfeet, also 3 Chiffs, then I stopped at Cresswell to look over the top field, 2 Swallows over , a look on the sea found about 70 Common Scoter , 3 RTD,3 Shag and a Sandwich Tern. Druridge the Great White Egret still in the same pool very overcast now , a very heavy shower so I sat in the car then went onto the hides , it was looking rather grim so I called it a day.

Theres always one larking about , get back in line !!!
