Went over to Stargate a few days ago to look for the reported Broad Bodied Chasers a Dragonfly I have not seen yet ,they don't seem to get over to Northumberland , at least Iv'e not heard of any, well I looked all over the weather was warm enough I even quizzed the fisherman if they had seen any Dragonflies But not a thing barely any Damsels even . Its a nice area though seems popular with the fisherman a few small jetties to view from , walked over the area the hill had many Common Spotted Orchids coming through its a fairly recent reclaimed site. Nearby was a huge Sand Martin colony its good to see nature so near towns
Edit :- If you see Broad Bodied Chaser please let me know !!!

Hi Brian, BB Chaser seems to have been reported from Wark area in the past.

Google BB Chaser in Northumberland, you may be already aware of this.
info only not a comment.
brian robson.
Photographed two from the hide at Holywell Pond 6th July last year.
Sorry Brian I tell a lie. Memory confuses me. I remember the discussion in the hide but the conclusion was Black Tailed Skimmer not Broad Bodied which I have incorrectly labelled the image.
I'm struggling to see any Dragons in my area.
Thanks guys , I had thought this year would be good in general for Dragonflies, there are reports of several BBC's over the water and high numbers of 4SC, but I have only had 2 I do remember the report of one in the Wark area. Black Tailed Skimmers where numerous last year .Early days perhaps, remind me what day is Summer on this year ?
Brian
